Boat Charters and Rentals
Sailing and Power Boat Rentals

Maine's coastline is not only one of the longest in the country, but arguably the most dramatic. The best way to see Maine's coast is by sea. Better still is to charter a boat or rent a yacht to chart your own course along Maine's scenic coast and explore the islands, inlets and peninsulas.

Many of Maine's harbor towns like Portland, Camden, Rockport and Bar Harbor offer boat charters and boat rentals, so you don't have to own a boat to be a boater. You can rent a sailboat for a week of cruising, or rent a power boat for a weekend depending upon whether you want to explore Penobscot Bay or visit the dramatic fjords of Somes Sound on Mount Desert Island.

Maine Hotel Lodging GuideSome Sailing Charter companies and yacht services provide sailing lesson so that you can learn to sail then charter your own boat. If you are already an experienced sailor, then you can charter a barefoot sailboat and head Down East for the best cruising and scenery Maine has to offer. If you want a sailing charter with captain and crew, that can be arranged too.

Sportfishing charters are a great way to experience Atlantic fishing in Maine. Your captain and crew provide all the tackle and know the best fishing spots in Maine – so you and your fishing buddies just show up and drop a line. A fishing charter makes a great bachelor party or a unique corporate getaway for special clients.

On Maine's lakes, several inland marinas offer power boat rentals and sailboat rentals by the day or by the hour, so you can enjoy time on the lake, set sail, or water ski, wakeboard, take the kids tubing, even fish for landlocked salmon.

Sailing and boating is a priceless family activity, you can teach your kids to sail and show them life aboard a yacht. Swimming in Maine's refreshingly cool water and exploring deserted beaches are a few of boater's best pastimes. Watching the first sunrise in Maine over the Atlantic, and the sunset over the shoreline are the best ways to start and end your day of yachting. Chartering a boat or even renting a personal watercraft will allow you to see spectacular parts of Maine not reached by car, bike or foot.
